This page lists the maternity facilities available in the Rotorua and Taupo areas. Well women may use these facilities in the absence of other maternity facilities in their area. Primary maternity facilities are designed for well women who have no complications during pregnancy. There are no tertiary maternity facilities in the Lakes district.

The College has 10 geographical regions and 5 sub-regions. The regions function autonomously and have their own constitutions which align to the national College constitution. Each of the regional chairpersons are part of the National Board the governance body if the College and have a key role in raising regional midwifery related issues at a national level and ensuring that items of national interest to midwifery are brought to the regions.

We are Registered Midwives practicing in Turangi, Taupo and some surrounding areas and provide free maternity care from conception up until your baby is four to six weeks old. We provide labour and birth care at your home or Taupo Maternity. Being primary based care providers, we do not routinely book women who plan to birth at Rotorua Hospital, however will accompany you if you require secondary care at any stage.
