The Union, Philadelphia’s soccer team, are admittedly having a rough year. But Philadelphia’s new major sports team still has a ton of support, thanks to their rowdy supporter section, The Sons of Ben. The Union have a fast growing fanbase and a young team (with former teen sensation Freddy Adu). Games are a ton of fun in person, or if they’re away, at a bar.
Philadelphia’s sports fans are infamous. From throwing snowballs at Santa to the two most used words in a Philadelphia sports fan’s vocabulary (dallas sucks), these guys are serious about their sports. Thrown in a two decade long curse, and you’ve got some frustrated Philadelphians. Fortunately for Phillies fans, the curse was broken a few years back, but that doesn’t stop the fans from wanting more. The Phillies are Philadelphia’s most accessible major sports team, and Citizen’s Bank Park is beautiful. Check here to see if you’ll be in town when the Phillies have their next game, and check it out. It’s extra fun when a rival is in town. We recommend standing room tickets. They’re cheap and you can check out the whole park.
