Lindy and Blues
Lindy and Blues is a dance organization run by awesome people. Every Monday, Tuesdsay, and Thursday they feature beginner classes in either Lindy Hop (swing) or Blues Dancing. It consists mostly of locals who are extremely friendly, and the one hour lesson is followed always by a social dance which is a lot of fun. This is recommended not only to experienced dancers, but complete beginners like us. If you go on a Tuesday, there’s a good chance you’ll see one of us there.
Fairmount Park is the city park of Philadelphia. Actually, it’s a collection of 63 city parks of Philadelphia. It’s a wonderful place to walk, bike, or jog around, and even better for a barbecue.
PEP Bowl is Philly’s best bowling alley. It’s small, cheap, conveniently located, and BYOB. Plus, it’s a non-profit where all the proceeds go to helping people with developmental disabilities get employment. PEP Bowl has been nominated the best bowling alley in 2012 by Philadelphia Magazine and is good for parties, casual bowlers, and serious league bowlers (like the Dude). Plus, you can bring all the ingredients for White Russians and it’s less than a minute walk to public transit.
